The first issue of the Moline Daily Evening Dispatch was produced on July 31, 1878. It was started by Oliver and Louise White. The early company had financial problems and was rescued by Charles Deere, son of John Deere, who bought it out and later sold it. The press stopped running in 2016 and the printed was outsourced to another company.
The building was built in 1949 and contains 53,004 rentable square feet of office and warehouse space
The former Moline Dispatch newspaper building iis n downtown Moline and is “on track” to become a 40-unit apartment building.
